Statement by Mr. Chris Atkins, Executive Director, Master Builders Tasmania
Three Tasmanian Building and Construction companies have received national recognition in this year’s Master Builders´ National Awards for Excellence.
The Awards were presented this Friday evening before some 1000 guests at Parliament House, Canberra attended by political and business leaders and Members of the Master Builders movement from around the country.
Crerar Restoration and Construction followed up on its success in the State Awards claiming the pivotal National Renovations Award over $400,000. The Cormiston project of Riverside in the north of the state took over three years planning and was unique in that construction of the original grand Italianate residence began in the 1850´s but was never fully completed until now. A stunning result.
Vos Construction & Joinery Pty Ltd continued their successful form on the national stage winning the National Contract Home under $350,000 with the Hosford Residence in Windermere. The home was created to capture the expansive river views while maintaining a balance between thermal performance and operational energy at a reasonable building cost. This project capped of another stellar year for the Tasmanian building giant.
Tascon Constructions Pty Ltd won the National Renovations Award under $200,000 with the Green residence renovation in Hobart’s Lenah Valley. The meticulous attention to detail, millimetre perfect lines and quality of finishes and fixtures has made this a project of the highest quality.
Executive Director of Master Builders Tasmania, Mr Chris Atkins, said the awards and recognition received by our national winners were indicative of the quality and craftsmanship our state continues to produce each year.
“The National MBT Awards for Excellence program gives our Members the opportunity to demonstrate the highest quality of works in their projects, setting a standard for the industry to aspire to”, Mr Atkins said.
Mr Atkins concluded, “The Tasmanian Building & Construction industry has long had a reputation of building excellence in Australia, and this result is a true reflection of that fact”.
